Libra Distinguished Lecturer Sarah Sweeney

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host digital artist Sarah Sweeney as its next speaker in the Libra Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room and via Zoom. Sweeney, the Ella Van Dyke Tuthill ’32 Chair in Studio Art at Skidmore College, will share her project My Deepfake Dad. In this project, she uses artificial intelligence, archival materials, interviews, and other source material to construct a series of audio conversations and photographs featuring her deceased father. In this presentation, she will play the second conversation in this series and discuss the project as a whole. This event is free and open to the public.
