DESCRIPTION:The Youth Peer Support Statewide Network (Youth Peer Support Statewide Network | Maine Behavioral Healthcare | Maine (mainehealth.org)) is a growing resource open to any Youth (ages 14 – 26) who reside in Maine and self-identify as having struggled with Mental Health challenges. \nThe YPSSN welcomes Aroostook County Youth to participate in the free\, weekly Art Group\, at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library! You do not have to work with one of our Peer Partners to participate in this recurring event\, it’s free\, and we provide snacks! Just show up\, bring some curiosity\, and let’s make Art! \nArt Supplies and Snacks are provided for free when in attendance at the weekly Art Group. Parental supervision is not required\, but the participants must meet the following criteria:  \n\n1. Be between the ages of 14 – 26\n2. Self-identify as having Mental Health struggles. NO DIAGNOSIS needed.\n3. Be a Maine resident. DESCRIPTION:The University of Maine at Presque Isle\, in partnership with the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Public Library\, will host a Community Open House on Friday\, July 17\, from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in and around the Campus Center. Activities taking place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. will include free ice cream (first come\, first served)\, outdoor games\, owl-themed art activities\, face painting\, and a story walk. At 1:30 p.m.\, the Chewonki Foundation will provide a presentation on Owls of Maine featuring live owls in the Campus Center Multi-Purpose Room. All activities are free and open to the public. The afternoon begins with international performances\, cultural storytelling\, and presentations starting promptly at 1:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive between 12:30 and 1:00 PM to enjoy the full program and secure seating before the festivities begin. \nFollowing the performances\, attendees will enjoy free tastings of international foods prepared by local volunteers representing countries and cultures from around the world. The event will also feature children’s activities\, a silent auction\, and opportunities to learn more about the traditions\, customs\, and stories that enrich our community. \nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome. Donations are appreciated and help support international humanitarian efforts\, including ShelterBox\, World Central Kitchen\, and Rotary service projects in Jamaica. DESCRIPTION:We’re turning up the heat for one night only with a Rockin’ on Riverside concert event featuring the Star City Syndicate! The concert will be taking place near the soccer field and Riverside Park area and will feature food and community vendors\, live music\, and more! This event is FREE to attend\, however donations and proceeds from this event will benefit the Presque Isle Volunteer Fire Department and will be used to continue their community projects like their children’s musters\, educational materials\, and scholarship program.\nBe sure to grab your lawn chair and join us July 30th from 6-8:30pm and stick around for an evening outdoor showing of Moana after the concert!
