DESCRIPTION:The University of Maine at Presque Isle will host longtime Yankee Magazine editor Mel Allen as its next speaker in the Libra Distinguished Lecture Series on Tuesday\, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room and via Zoom. Allen spent nearly a half-century at Yankee Magazine as a writer and editor. During his talk\, he will read from his new book\, “Here in New England\,” bringing the people and places of New England to life through storytelling and images. A book signing and reception with refreshments will immediately follow the talk\, which is free and open to the public. Neighborhood Books will offer copies of “Here in New England” for purchase after the talk.
