SUMMARY:Automate IT Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:Do you spend time thinking about how there “has to be an easier way”\, there “has to be a more effective way”\, or there has to be something that can “do this thing better and faster than me”?\nAs a small business owner\, you most likely think about this a lot but may not know where to start to figure it out! \nIn this 8-week cohort\, facilitated by Tara Servilio\, we will work from the point of view that implementing some targeted technology-based changes can support our business goals. We will also work from the point of view that we have limited resources\, including time\, capacity\, and financial means to do this with. \nYour goals may be to streamline\, create efficiencies\, focus your time differently\, increase awareness and sales\, organize your finances better\, or just generally increase your capabilities to run the business from end-to-end.\nOur objective is to: \nIdentify areas that could benefit from technology\, and define what that technology is\,\nHow technology will work within your business\,\nFocus on both front of house (customer experience\, processes\, and accessibility) and back of house (business and offering processes and administrative tasks).\nWe will alternate between Workshop Sessions\, where we learn and discuss concepts and tools\, and Lab Sessions\, where we spend time focused on applying the learning to our business. \nYou will leave the cohort with a support network\, as well as\, a clearly defined end-to-end view of what\, where\, why\, and how you want to implement technology into your business. \nThis program is for Maine-based female business owners who are currently in-business. \nProgram Outline: \nDefine End-to-End Operations: We start by mapping out our businesses current end-to-end operations\, and the most important points of action within those. We will focus on identifying manual actions\, and if those should stay as is\, or evolve into a more standardized or automated action. \nIdentify Areas of Opportunities: Through the definitional work done above\, you will identify where there are pain points\, constraints\, and opportunities for technology to support these activities. Again\, keeping in mind if that activity is best supported by being manual\, standardized\, and / or automated in some way. \nPlan and Budget for Change: Having clearly understood what you need to focus on\, we will work to identify technologies and options to fit your needs\, and begin to plan the time\, and resources required to make it happen\, including vendors\, money\, and knowledge / information. \nSession Dates: \nMonday\, April 7th\, 9:00am-10:30am \nMonday\, April 14th\, 9:00am-10:30am \n(No Session April 21st) \nMonday\, April 28th\, 9:00am-10:30am \nMonday\, May 5th\, 9:00am-10:30am \nMonday\, May 12th\, 9:00am-10:30am \nMonday\, May 19th\, 9:00am-10:30am \n(No Session May 26th) \nMonday\, June 2nd\, 9:00am-10:30am \nMonday\, June 9th\, 9:00am-10:30am \nRegister Today! \nReasonable accommodations for people with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Interpretation is available upon request.

SUMMARY:Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to a rare place where you can witness the most challenging sled dog race in the eastern United States. We have organized high-quality racing events designed for the enjoyment of mushers\, spectators\, and dog teams. All three Can-Am Crown races (the 250\, 100\, and 30 mile races) now have highly accessible starts on Main Street in Fort Kent\, Maine and comfortably viewed finishes at Lonesome Pine ski lodge in Fort Kent. The start in the morning and finish lines in the late afternoon in Fort Kent are a festival of food\, family fun\, music\, and vendors! The Can-Am Crown 250 also has designated spectator points in the towns of Portage Lake and Allagash. For logistic and safety reasons\, checkpoints west of Portage Lake and south of Allagash are closed to the public. Click here for the best places to view the races. Racing events in Fort Kent are planned to have maximum accessibility and visibility. There are no fees to view the races. Bring your camera! \nRelax! As you visit our friendly towns along the way\, you may want to pause for refreshment and talk with the local folks. Enjoy the easy pace of life and the helpful and friendly people. You’ll find everything you need for a uniquely enjoyable experience. \nLeave the World Behind\nAt some point in your travels you will realize that you have left the ordinary world behind. Watch out for moose! You are in north country now. When you get to Fort Kent you may begin to feel exhilarated by the beautiful scenery\, the camaraderie of the people\, the eagerness of the dog teams\, and the anticipation of the imminent adventure. \nWeekend Centerpiece\nAt 250 miles\, Maine’s Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Race is the longest and highest caliber race in the eastern United States. For the men and women who challenge themselves and their teams of dogs\, it represents great adventure\, accomplishments and reward. It is a course for experts and those moving up in the exciting sport of sled dog racing\, with winners claiming their share of a $29\,000 purse!\nThe Upper St. John Valley is a classic setting for the CAN-AM CROWN 250. The race course runs deep into the famous Allagash Wilderness region\, a setting which embodies much of Maine’s heritage and natural splendor. \nCelebrate\nHighlighting your visit to the St. John Valley\, the Can-Am Crown organization arranges a festive dinner and awards ceremony after each racing event. Dress casually. \nSafety Tips\nRemember\, all children love dogs\, but not all dogs love children. Please don’t allow children to approach the sled dog teams. Spectators must not take pets to the race sites. This is absolutely forbidden. Bring extra warm clothing just in case. Have fun!
