Light Up Central Aroostook! Winners Announced

The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce introduced Light Up Central Aroostook! this year to provide 22 communities with the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in a festive and safe way by lighting up their homes and store fronts.

“Residents and businesses registered for the contest,” shares LaNiece Sirois, CACC Executive Director,
“doing so qualified them to be judged and to be placed on a map for families to use to light peep this season.”

The Chamber is excited to announce the winners of the first annual Light Up Central Aroostook and are as follows:

In the category of Most Original

1st place, Trevor Parent, 24 Blake Street, Presque Isle

2nd place, Pat and Galen Good, 91 Washburn Rd., Presque Isle

3rd place, Ashley Hall, 7 Turner Street, Presque Isle

4th place, Andrew Marquis, 45 Lombard Street, Presque Isle

In the category of Traditional Presentation

1st place, Jasmine and Jason Cote, 271 State Street, Presque Isle

2nd place, Susan Tweedie, 636 Robinson Rd., Blaine

3rd place, Sally and Curtis Lewin, 77 Mechanic Street, Presque Isle

4th place, Jeremie Raymond, 362 Home Farm Road, Caribou

In the Category of Best Use of Lights

1st place, David and Dawn Collins, 33 Village Court, Blaine

2nd place, Nick Michaud, 56 Sunrise Circle, Mapleton

3rd place, Melissa Libby, 25 West Limestone Rd., Fort Fairfield

4th place, Shawn Bugbee, 1664 Parsons Rd., Mapleton

1st place, Machias Savings Bank, Presque Isle

“The judges spent a week of evenings visiting all the registered residences,” states Craig Anderson, CACC Board Director and Chair of Light Up Central Aroostook, “we walked the properties to ensure we saw all there was to be seen in order to rate a fairly as possible.”
